Hello, I would love to share my journey on being a cosmetologist with you that way you can get to know me better. Me being in the hair world began over 30+ years ago and I am still loving it! Right out of high school I went to Xenon Beauty School in Omaha, NE, then I was blessed with getting the job of my dreams as an assistant with Rick Mosely at Rick Mosely Hair Salon in Valley Junction, West Des Moines. Rick had a very detailed training class that you were required go through with him, that lasted about a year. You also were required to travel for more high-end training which came from some of the top artist in the world. My favorite was going to New York, staying at the Waldorf while training with artists from Europe. That was so cool and lots of fun! I eventually reached my goal when I became a platform artist as a specialize colorist while Rick did the haircuts. It was certainly very exciting, and intimidating in the begin, but looking back it was a wonderful experience and I was blessed to have Rick give me such a wonderful opportunity! All of this has brought about my love to teach and share my knowledge with those who come in looking for help and guidance.

 

While mentoring with Rick within that first year I also attended a massage therapy school in Des Moines, I became certified and began my massage practice in the salon. It was another calling I could not shake and was very grateful for Rick's support while I offered both hair and massages services for about 3 years. With Rick's mentoring and high end training, my cliental in the chair grew very fast and the need for me to be full time was quit obvious so I let the massage career go but with no regrets.

After 12 years in Des Moines I eventually moved back to my home town, bought a building built in 1889 located in downtown Emmetsburg, IA, did a massive remodel then opened my dream salon on June 3, 2003. 20 years later I am still truly enjoying my work with the challenges and fun of creating new looks with haircuts and colors that embraces the style of the individual client. I have been deeply blessed with amazing clients through the years while working beside some very talented stylists!

I am a down to earth, all natural kind of girl with the love for arts and creating. I always say I am a true tomboy that likes to play dress up. Nature is my love and inspiration, working with my hands is my passion and clients are a gift I never take for granted! I feel truly blessed to have this wonderful career and still experience the joy and fun in it every day. I wish you all peace and beauty in your moments of every day and I look forward to serving anyone looking for a style change or just needing help in the knowledge and guidance to the right haircare or skincare for their needs.
